Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family and community service. His first family is that Selmon is the eldest of nine kids raised within Eufala by Lucious Selmon. The second football was that his father was the only of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in all of the nation. He was awarded two championships as well as 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's starter. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975. He was also named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained a degree as an educator. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. After graduating Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with the Buccaneers. There were three times, he was selected All-Pro. Then he began his business career. The first position he held was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as one of the top 10 youngsters of the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame was named for his on the 28th of October, 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave the Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
